STEMM Lunch Program

"STEMM Car Matching Fundraiser"
Every day 4,500 grade school children are fed a protein based hot meal through STEMM's partnership with the schools, teachers and parents. For less than 1 cent a day we can feed a child the only hot meal a day they will receive. Government schools in Tanzania do not have the resources to provide meals to their students. These children go to school at 7am and come home at 4pm without any food or running water. Their grades suffer incredibly. The majority of schools have less than 40% of the children passing at the end of the year. Children would not go to school before the lunch program because they knew they would not receive food and at least if they were at home or in the street there was a chance they could find food. The STEMM Lunch Program has turned that into a 90% pass rate average. This has doubled the enrollment at all 8 area schools also! A good problem to have. Our STEMM staff visits these schools every week to make sure all is going well with the program and to take the opportunity to preach and share the gospel with the students. Without reliable transportation this program would not be able to continue to function. It takes alot of organization and accountability to feed 4,500 children a day. Our staff does an amazing job!
Please consider donating to our STEMM Car Fund. Our only car currently is at a point where it would cost more to fix than to purchase a new car. The roads in Tanzania are so rough the lifespan of a good car is very short. Ours has lasted many years, but finally it is at its end.
