Feeding 5000 Campaign: Flood Relief in Tanzania

STEMM is mounting a fundraising campaign to provide flood relief for people in our home village of Mbuguni, Tanzania. Recent flooding episodes have caused catastrophic damage to houses, personal property, gardens (which are a major food source in this area) and have caused many people to become homeless and food insecure. Homes damaged by flooding in Mbuguni number 2665; homes destroyed by flooding in Mbuguni number over 100.

Our goal with this project is to raise $30,000 for Flood Relief in our home village.

With this money, we would be able to:

1. Rebuild roofs / walls / simple rooms for 20 of the 100 houses which became uninhabitable due to flooding.

2. Rebuild a local school latrine which was damaged by the flooding. This would allow school children to use the restroom while at school.

3. Install two culverts in the community to help divert water to avoid this situation in the future.

4. Provide clothes and food for those most severely affected by this tragedy.

We will hold a fundraiser on May 29, 2026 at Lofted View Events Center (2086 210th St, Bronson, IA 51007) from 5:30 -- 8:30. The event will include 3 bands, food will be available for purchase from local food trucks and a cash bar will also be available. Entrance to watch the concert is free to the public but we will ask for a free-will donation to aid in flood relief in our village. Donations may be made:
