Dear Friends of STEMM,

In just a few weeks, a team of six college students from Northwestern College, Dordt University, South Dakota State University, and DMACC will travel to Tanzania to join STEMM's annual Medical and Spiritual Outreach.

Last summer, together with our Tanzanian partners, we served more than 3,800 people who otherwise had little or no access to healthcare. Patients received care from general medical providers, orthopedic specialists, ENT physicians, optometrists, dentists, OB/GYN providers, psychologists, social workers, and a full-service pharmacy. We also distributed more than 1,000 pairs of eyeglasses and 1,200 Bibles.

Most importantly, people heard the Gospel. More than 1,200 individuals attended our pastoral outreach efforts, hearing the message of Christ's love and hope.

This year, we are taking an important next step.

Rather than simply holding a one-time event, STEMM has spent months working with local pastors and churches so that people who come to the outreach can be connected to a local body of believers after the medical team leaves. Our prayer is that this outreach becomes the beginning of lasting discipleship relationships, and that when we return in the coming months, we will witness baptisms and transformed lives.

Unfortunately, inflation in Tanzania has significantly increased outreach costs.

  • Bibles have increased from approximately $3,000 to $4,600.

  • Medicines are expected to cost approximately $6,000.

  • Transportation, tents, and chairs will cost approximately $2,000.

What was originally budgeted as a $10,000 outreach will now require nearly $15,000 to complete.

Even with these increased costs, we still expect to serve thousands of people—continuing to provide healthcare, eyeglasses, medicine, prayer, and the hope of the Gospel for about $3 per person reached.

Would you consider helping us close this funding gap?

Whether your gift helps purchase medicine, provide Bibles, or simply helps us reach one more person with compassionate care by helping us pay for the food for our volunteers, your support makes this ministry possible.

·         $30 reaches approximately 10 people

·         $150 helps provide medicines for a clinic station

·         $500 helps support Bible distribution and follow-up ministry

Thank you for partnering with STEMM as we continue our mission of changing lives for Christ through compassionate care.

Thank you for helping us meet our goal with the Bands, Burgers, and Brews… to Build a Classroom!

We were able to raise more than $10,000 to build a classroom in an educationally underserved region of Tanzania! We can’t wait to share pictures on this site of the new room!
